The Englishman’s Retreat is a small boutique Guesthouse on the edge of Udon Thani, a vibrant city in the North East of Thailand, 600 miles from Bangkok and a 1 hour flight to Udon’s International airport.

The Retreat is only 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but far enough away to be considered a RETREAT. With its high castle walls it definitely feels like a retreat once inside, and the Beefeater styled uniforms adds an even more British ambiance.

The whole feel of the place is very private. One guest actually said he felt he was staying in a private villa, referring to the way his room opened on to the swimming pool terrace, and how he couldn’t hear the coming-and-going of other residents, like that of larger hotels.

The Pool side bar and restaurant serves food from 8am to 9pm and is said to offer the best value around, serving up authentic Thai dishes from just 49bt, and with a good selection of Western foods many of them just 99bt. All rooms have private bathroom & hot water. The rooms are spacious, with Queen-size beds and plenty of storage space. Every room has cable TV, a well priced and well stocked mini-bar, and wi-fi internet connection. All rooms look over or open onto the pool

Fitness Center
The layout of the gym was designed long before it was built, ensuring a wide selection of equipment would fit into what is relatively a small area. The multi-gyms and weight stands have all been custom made to the owner’s specification, allowing optimum arrangement with incline/decline positions, and almost zero friction pulley machines.

Membership
Residents of Udon Thani can take advantage of our leisure facilities by joining our Members-only Leisure Club. It’s very low-cost at only 400bt per month or you can purchase an annual membership for just 4000bt, saving you 20%.

If your spouse wants to take up membership at the same time as you, they will be given a 50% discount, paying only 200bt per month or 2,000bt per annum.

Children must be accompanied by their parents and pay just 20bt per day if they use the swimming pool, under 16’s will not be permitted to use the fitness centre
